SCHOLES FINED

Sir Alex Ferguson is pleased Paul Scholes is showing such good form so early. After his brace against Celtic last night he told Pravda:

"When you see Paul Scholes playing like that... he gave the ball away once tonight so he is fined a week's wages.

"I think he brings a better order to your play, better composure and patience about it. He is never in a hurry, he's got everything sorted out in his head, he's got such good vision.

"The most important thing, I think he loved playing with the young players and he really enjoyed it."

He also thinks the next friendly game will see the return of some of the internationals. Fergie continued

"Rooney is gasping for a game. He is pestering the bloody life out of me. So I'll probably play him against Macclesfield. Edwin van der Sar is looking for a game - we'll look at the situation.

"(Against Preston) Ole Gunnar Solkskjaer will be back, John O'Shea will be back. I may give one of the main players half an hour and the ones who are looking ahead of the rest, the likes of Rio Ferdinand or something like that but I'll have a good look."
