SERIE A IN TROUBLE

The presidents of several leading Italian top flight clubs have threatened to
postpone the start of the league season until a dispute over pay television
rights is resolved.

The Italian league season is scheduled to open on September 1.
At the moment there are eight Serie A clubs and three second division clubs
who do not have broadcast arrangements with Stream et Tele+, pay-TV
stations. If the problem is not solved in time the league could start at the
beginning of October
