"Who better could I have to learn off. I have such great respect for Roy and trying to replace him at Manchester United is the hardest thing you can imagine.
"I want to give the manager a problem.
"I want to put him in a position where he doesn't want to leave me out of the team.
"When you get the opportunity to play for Manchester United, you have to make sure you are ready.
"That is why I chose to play for the reserves.
"I knew I wasn't going to play the full 90 minutes for England and I needed to get some minutes under my belt.
"There was nothing more to it than that, I just think there was a misunderstanding somewhere along the way."
