Sir Alex Ferguson was a happy man last night after seeing his team stroll to
victory. This is what he thought.

"I think the performance in the first half was excellent. They created so much
space and the movement and the passing was really, really good."

You didn't expect them to bag another four did you?

"Obviously the second half was a different angle to the game because we were
in control and we didn't use our energy in the same way we did in the first half.
I thought it was a sensible performance, but it was still nice to get another
goal."

Honestly though Pananthinaikos played really well

"I think our performance was excellent, I must say that. Pananthinaikos, if you
go back to the last time we played them three years ago, eight of that team
are still there. We should think about our own performance and it was a very
good one."

“Our form and experience in Europe are getting better and it was very
pleasing tonight.

“We are looking at the 10-point mark with a lot more optimism.”

He added: “We have to go away to Stuttgart and then have a double-header
with Rangers and with Rangers winning, it puts more spice into it. If you win
your first home game in the group stage it gets you off to the right start.”

Ryan Giggs was another who was happy with the way the team killed off the
Greeks last night.

"I think at half-time we could obviously take our foot off the pedal.

"We had to work hard in the opening minutes but I think our passing and
movement all over the pitch just killed them.

"It's always nice to get a home game first and you want to win it because
whoever you get next is going to be difficult because it's away."

"It's similar to last season. We are picking up injuries but that's what the squad
is for. I'm sure whatever team we put out will be capable of winning."
