SOLKSJAER IN SQUAD

So says the Sun:

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer will enjoy an emotional 33rd birthday present — a place in Manchester United’s Carling Cup final squad.

His Millenium Stadium appearance will be particularly poignant. For that is where he played his last major game for the club.

Reserve coach, Rene Meulensteen:

"It's not only for me to decide, but for him as well.

"As long as he's happy to play for us then we'll keep giving him games.

"The good Ole of old would have definitely scored one or two goals at Birmingham, but he's getting in the right positions. He's not far off though, I'm sure of that.

"I was very impressed with him at Birmingham. Mark has come back from what can be a very tenacious injury. When they're declared fit after such injuries there's always a element of insecurity with them, but he's been brilliant in training."
