"There are a lot of things about Ole which encourage us to offer him a contract to keep him here.
"His current injury came at a bad time but we are very confident he will come back to play.
"But I have always felt Ole has the ability to become a great coach. We are encouraging him to take his badges because there are so many opportunities here when it comes to working with younger players.
"Not only that, he is a role model and this club needs people like that who can fill ambassadorial positions.
"His record here and the professionalism he has showed at this club over the last decade have been an integral part of a lot of our success here and we have a lot of gratitude for that.
"Now, we are starting to look at the long term and look at how we can utilise the great players we have here."
Ole:
"It has been a difficult and frustrating few years for me but I am determined to prove my worth over the next few years.
"I am sure I can contribute to the team and their success.
"Although my priority is to keep playing, I am looking forward to exploring the coaching opportunity being given to me by the club."
