SOME GIRLS ARE BIGGER THAN OTHERS

From the Observer:

‘Posh Beckham's legal battle for the right to be called Peterborough marks a dark career moment. A year ago - about the same time the Beckhams turned down Barry Fry's offer to sell them his car number plate 'POSII' ('David laughed and said Victoria didn't really like being called Posh') - she told showbiz hacks that her new album was about 'me as an individual'.

'This isn't a "Posh Spice" project, it's not a "Posh and Becks" venture - this is Victoria Beckham , for the first time. People still call me Posh Spice - but there's a lot more to me than just that.' What a difference 12 months, an album flop and losing your record deal makes...’ ouch

BECKS PUTS THE BOTTLERS TO SHAME

Meanwhile The Daily Mirror’s Des Kelly has a good word for her husband.

‘A WORD on David Beckham. Despite his unquestioned ability, the man is often mocked by his detractors for wearing a sarong, nail varnish, hairband or some other irrelevance.

But he showed what he is made of this week. Despite the frightening news that an alleged kidnap plot had been foiled and the understandable concerns for his family, England's captain did something unusual in sport - he just got on with his job.

There have been plenty of sportsmen who have proved somewhat spineless, even when they have been faced with the vaguest of threats. I refer here to the likes of the US Ryder Cup team, who didn't want to get on a plane, and the half-dozen Chelsea players who refused to travel to Israel.

When it mattered, Beckham has proved to be more of a man than all of them.’
