offered players, and to play a friendly, after the Munich
air disaster. It also reveals how Santiago Bernabeu made Sir
Matt a very lucrative offer to become Madrid's manager in
early 60s but Sir Matt turned him down as his aim was to
rebuild United.

Apparently the United expedition will arrive at Barajas
airport at 4.30 before heading off to Hotel Villamagna.
Fergie might give press conference before they train at
Bernabeu at 7pm.

Real won at the weekend, they were saved by three goals in
last six minutes from substitutes Morientes, who celebrated
his 27th birthday by replacing Ronaldo and scoring two.
Also Geremi's loan period at Middlesboro is coming to an end
but he doesn't want to return to Madrid to sit on bench.
Boro's offer is €6m short of what Madrid are asking. States
