ST NICK'S DAD IN HOOLIGAN SCARE

Nicky Butt's dad was held for three hours by airport officials after flying into Japan - accused of being a soccer hooligan.

They refused to let Terry Butt leave with other families of the World Cup squad
even though he insisted: "I am not a hooligan.

"My son is a member of the England team and is playing against Brazil."

The officials claimed Mr Butt's name was on a list of banned soccer hooligans.

The Football Association were called in and after being quizzed he was
eventually allowed to leave for his hotel.

His wife Susan, who was with her husband, said: "Apparently there was another T. Butt on the banned list.

"They held him for about three hours, but it was all a misunderstanding."
