STAY ON

SAF has urged Roy Carroll to sign a new contract and stay at Old Trafford for
longer. His contract runs out at the end of the season meaning he will be free to talk to other clubs in January. Those that have been paying attention will have
realised that he is currently having his longest spell in the first team.

"We hope there is a change of mind and that he will stay," said Ferguson.

"Roy is a steadying influence at the back and never lets us down. We have
offered him a new contract, which his agent has turned down but I feel he is part of the club now."

Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer is set to walk out on the club when his contract
expires and he is already being linked with a move to United or Arsenal.
