STILES PRAISES VAN NISTELROOY

“Ruud is completely different to Denis," said Nobby Stiles.
"Denis was sharp, quick and elusive in the box. Ruud is more
like an old-fashioned centre forward. He gets through a
stack of work and leads the line superbly.

"In that sense he reminds me more of Tommy Taylor, who was
another fantastic player. For big men, they share a great
first touch and are constantly putting pressure on
defenders.

"He is priceless to this current side and it is wonderful to
watch him play, so why try and compare him with anyone else,
certainly someone as unique as Denis. What they do share
though is a hunger for goals. I remember one game when I was
about to tap a ball into an empty net and Denis literally
shoved me out of the way and scored it himself.

"When I asked why he said `You're never around for the
difficult ones, so why should I give you a goal as easy as
that'. It was typical of his mentality and Ruud looks as
though he enjoys scoring just as much.

"In different eras, they are two extraordinary players and
I'm just glad they both joined Manchester United."
