“A lot of people were making out that the book had had a big affect on the atmosphere in the dressing room, but to be honest it hasn't.

"It's really been a storm in a teacup created by the media, who've been trying to build up Roy's book a bit like they did with Jaap's last year.

"That’s the way it is with Roy Keane, it's not like he hasn't spoken out about performances and other stuff at the club before anyway, so it's nothing new to any of us. It's just part of who Roy is and what makes him the player he is."

"The way things were last year, I was in and out of both the team and the first-team squad.

.
"But now I've been given the chance to show what I can do, and it's gone well so far. Rio was very unlucky with the injury he picked up and maybe the manager was going to start with Laurent and Rio as first choice.

"But the manager has been happy with how I've done and I've put it up to him now to keep me in the team.
