MANCHESTER UNITED last night slapped in an £8million bid for Louis Saha and told Fulham: That’s our final offer.

Insiders reckon the London club will turn it down and put a £13m price tag on the French striker. United, who initially offered £5.5m, are not prepared to go that high and could instead move for Inter Milan hitman Christian Vieri or Mark Viduka, of Leeds.

Inter president Massimo Moratti said:

“United have been in contact but they are not the only ones interested in Christian.”

Inter will sell Vieri, 30, for around £6m.
