* More Newcastle/Forlan rumours - this time in the NOTW.

* Skysports: Internazionale and Milan are both reportedly following Ruud van Nistelrooy's situation at Manchester United closely.

* The People: Manchester United will sell American keeper Tim Howard after setting up Polish starlet Lukasz Fabianski as his £1.6 million replacement.

Howard has had a nightmare time at Old Trafford, losing his place to Edwin van der Sar.

* More Sky:

Manchester United are the latest English club to show an interest in Legia Warsaw keeper Lukas Fabianski.

"If they want me, they will surely return to have talks," he commented recently, when asked about United's alleged interest.

"But, in the meantime, I want to stay in Warsaw.

"I can learn here under the eyes of a fine professional in Krzysztof Dowhania.

"I do have dreams and plans that I believe, some time, I will realise."

* Hunter Davies will write Rooney's book. The People:

Wayne Rooney's biographer, Hunter Davies, is the man to get in touch with this summer if you need to impart your tactical genius on Svennis and his England World Cup squad from your armchair.

That's because Davies will have a hotline to the Manchester United and England striker during the Germany finals, and he revealed: "I'll phone Wayne every day to get his thoughts on what's happening.

"It'll be a thrill to ring someone in the England dressing-room and hear at first hand what's going on - it's my idea of heaven."
