SHARES IN Manchester United leapt to an all-year high today(monday) after yet another billionaire was rumoured to be considering a bid for the club.

But sources at Old Trafford were quick to distance themselves from the speculation, insisting no move whatsoever had been made.

Shares jumped 4p to 191p when trading started at 7.30am today, the first opportunity investors have had to buy since the rumours began to circulate.
The latest financier to be suggested is US-based Philip Anschutz, who heads a huge sports empire which owns the Millennium Dome and already controls five soccer clubs in America.
