Ferguson:

"The main worries, without question are Ryan Giggs, Wes Brown and Paul
Scholes,

"Of the three, I think Scholes has the better chance, but Giggs and Brown are
very doubtful, which is really disappointing for the lads.

"I think when you go through the course of a whole season, you are happy to
get an injury or two, but when you get them and it means missing a final it
affects them more deeply.

"But we will do our best and give them every chance, but other than that
everyone is fit and ready."

The good news is:

"Mikael Silvestre will be fit - he trained this morning. John O'Shea should be
fine - he's had a little bug and didn't train today but should be OK. Quinton
Fortune's playing for the Reserves and he could be an option. He could come
into the squad and could be a welcome bonus."

Unfortunately though, Forlan will certainly not play:

"Diego's out, though, there's still a lot of swelling on his ankle and he'll be out
for three or four weeks. At least with the injuries I'll be spared the horrible job
of telling people they're not playing. I do it on the morning of the game and it's
the worst job."

Ryan Giggs:

"It's not looking too good at the moment,

"I had a similar kind of injury with Wales which settled down quite quickly
afterwards. Hopefully this one will too but I am running out of days.

"I really want to play because it is my home city and all my family are going to
be there. It is a great stadium in a great setting.

"I can't actually remember how I picked up the injury. It could have been when
I scored our second goal but with Sunday in mind, I knew the right thing to do
was come off and give myself the best possible chance of recovery.

"I knew it was going to be touch and go straight away because it began to
stiffen up as soon as I got to the dressing room and it's now just a case of
wait-and-see."

F.A. Prem report good news for Quinton Fortune:

'Quinton Fortune boosted his chances of playing a part in Manchester
United's Worthington Cup final showdown with Liverpool on Sunday when
coming through a reserve match.

The midfielder showed no ill effects from his injury and put in a few crunching
tackles when faced with 50/50 challenges.'

And Teamtalk believe that Wes will be fit:

'Wes Brown is winning his battle to make Manchester United's starting line up
for Sunday's Worthington Cup final against Liverpool in Cardiff.

He is expected to return to training on Thursday and, if he comes through
without any problems, looks certain to be included in Sir Alex Ferguson's
plans for the game in Cardiff.'
