"It is vitally important for this team to win some
silverware, full stop," McManaman declared. "The likes of
Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea may place this
competition as the lesser of their priorities.

"That is understandable, because the Champions' League does
take a lot out of you. I think it is important that we
approach the game in the right manner.

"The fans want a day out at the Millennium Stadium and
rightly so.

"It is a long time since a team of this calibre has been
involved in those types of trophy-deciding games and we are
looking to put that right."

"The two competitions we can win and what we have a really
big chance in are the FA Cup and the Carling Cup, said
Keegan.

"I don't think we can win the league and I have never said
we would. If I did, I think our fans would say I am nuts.

"You try to win every game, but there are teams a few points
ahead of us and we haven't even reached a third of the
season. If the Uefa Cup was left as it was, without the
eight teams coming out of the Champions' League, then I
would think we'd have a chance in that, but there could be
some really tough games coming up for us.

"So realistically, the Carling Cup represents one of only
two chances to get that silverware we want. And it is fair
comment to say the we will be going all out to do as well as
we possibly can."
