"There might be a chance I will still be around for the next World Cup. I have been thinking about it a little bit because, so far, this trip has been a wonderful experience. My attitude is different to what it was five or six years ago and in that sense, I do not want to look too far ahead. But age is not a worry for me. I don't think I look 33 and I certainly don't feel 33, so you never know what might happen in the future."

"As a club, Manchester United exists to win trophies. It is now three seasons since we won the Premier League and we cannot afford that run to continue. I realise we have won the FA Cup and Carling Cup in that time but those competitions are further down our list of priorities. The Premiership is the main thing for us and we have to be ready for the challenge when it arrives. This is a very important pre-season for us. With the World Cup players being away, it is a massive chance for the rest of us to show the manager what we are capable of. You never know, some of the players who were at the World Cup might be a bit tired and still not 100% for the start of the season. That is when we can step in. We have to be ready."
