THE NATION’S CHAMPION SPEAKS

"The fact that two of the biggest teams in the world, France and Argentina, have gone out has opened up the whole World Cup and I'm sure there will be a few more surprises. I still think most of us are shocked that Argentina haven't made it because, although they had to go and win against Sweden, we thought they would do it.”

"We've had to be on the button from the very first game because it was such a hard group, the so called `Group Of Death', and now this is where the pressure really comes in because they are one-off games. This is where things start heating up. But we've come through and qualified and the way we played and conducted ourselves against Argentina was excellent and we are hoping to go on from here. There is a special bond amongst the players, not just the 11 out there but the whole 23 in the squad and if that continues it will give us an extra chance of doing well."
