The Glazer brothers who joined the Old Trafford board yesterday:

JOEL GLAZER (age: 38)

Has been an executive vice-president of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 1995. Also worked as a vice-president of First Allied Corporation, a holding company for the family's business interests.

AVRAM GLAZER (44)

A vice-president of First Allied and president and chief executive of Zapata Corporation, a holding company co-founded by the former US President, George Bush Sr, in which the family has 51.3 per cent of the stock.

BRYAN GLAZER (40)

Has worked as a vice-president of First Allied and is on the board of directors of Zapata Corporation. He has also been an executive vice-president of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 1995.

And this from the Indie:

Joel, Bryan and Avi Glazer, who were yesterday appointed to Manchester United's board, could scarcely have more contrasting personalities, being respectively described last night as "family man", "emotional movie buff" and "secretive dreamer". Yet in one respect, they are all chips off their father Malcolm's block: they smell money at Old Trafford.

"They don't know that much about soccer, but they see a business opportunity," said a source who has known the family for years. "They think there's a profit to be made, but don't expect them to tell you how. They trust no-one but themselves."

The Mirror:

Joel The 'Soccer' Man

He claims to be the 'soccer-nut' of the Glazer family after sharing a flat with a Spurs fan sparked his interest in the game.

Joel is likely to be given the job of running United and looking after his father's huge investment on a daily basis.

Has worked as a vice-president of First Allied Corporation, a US real estate investment company. Ten years ago, Joel was named executive vice-president of Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he is credited with having 'extensive sports management experience.'

Underwent surgery for appendicitis in February of this year.

BrianThe 'Money' Man

He is the man charged with running Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a day-to-day basis and he has completely overhauled the brand - even re-designing the team's logo.

The marketing whizzkid, appointed Tampa's vice-president in 1995, is set to be the person who will squeeze every last drop out of United's global appeal.

He drove through the development and construction of Tampa's Raymond James Stadium. And his money-spinning idea of launching 'Pewter Partners' boosted advertising revenue from blue-chip American companies by giving their products huge advertising space.

Avram The 'Fish' Man

Avram, 44, is credited with formulating Malcolm Glazer's £790m takeover of United. But his business record in the US is chequered, with the disastrous Zap.com internet venture running up huge losses. He is likely to be handed the task of structuring the debt that Glazer's bid has placed United in.

In 1995, he became president and chief executive officer of Zapata Corporation, a US public company trading on the New York stock exchange. And he is also chairman of the board of directors of Omega Protein Corporation, the Glazer family business which processes fish oils.
