Keano is writing extra last chapter of book about this summer "you need to say what's what sometimes....this book isn't to slag anyone off except maybe three or four people...I might make a few enemies"

Ed. I might make a few enemies? Why the future tense?

Stam is going to Barca for 15mill says Mirror.

United are to give St Nick Of Gorton a new contract after his World Cup exploits, (NOTW)

Rivaldo is apparently being offered to United and Arsenal but for £90,000 a week AFTER tax and Peter Kenyon is quoted here:

"The clock is ticking on Rivaldo. He would cost a fortune. You don't look at
players over the age of 28 who are going to cost that sort of money. We want
players who will perform over a long period. We will not invest in one-year
wonders."

Fergie is also discussing a £5m deal for Rennes' French Under-21 left-back
Julien Escude. (notw)

As we have reported many times, The Mirror say that a swap deal involving Lazio striker Hernan Crespo and Veron could be on.

The Mirror: Chelsea are ready to sacrifice £12million-rated striker Eidur
Gudjonsen - and that has alerted the Premiership's big guns Arsenal,
Manchester United and Liverpool.

The People reckon that Quinton will stay on in Japan despite saying last week
that he wants to fight for his place at OT.

We are after Senegal's Papa Bouba Diop, according to the NOTW:

Diop's agent Nicolas Geiger confirmed: "Lens and I have a fax from United informing us officially that the English club are interested in Bouba (right).

"For the moment Bouba cannot yet play in England as he hasn't played a sufficient number of games for Senegal to get a work permit. So he won't have a chance to play in England before January."

This from Daily Soccer:

Juventus French international defender Lilian Thuram is believed to be close to signing with Manchester United, the Italian media reported.

The French international was offered a 3-year deal with the Premiership side.

His transfer pay-off is believed to be close to 28 m euros (around GMP19mill) which is far from the fee paid by Juventus to Parma for the Frenchman last year.
