THE SQUAD IS GETTING YOUNGER

Speaking to the Evening News, Fergie has admitted that his
transfer dealings this summer were aimed at reducing the
average age of the squad:

"We don't have that many in their 30s now, only Roy Keane,
Fabien Barthez, Ryan Giggs and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But
there is a group below them as well with great experience.
When you are thinking about the future it is easier to
construct your model with younger players so we had to look
at that 22-23 age group,''

He believes that Kleberson and Djemba Djemba can have an
immediate impact, while Bellion is one for the future:

"He (Kleberson) is young and we certainly think he is one of
the most progressive young players in Brazil at the moment.
He is athletic, creative and quick. Djemba-Djemba is only
22. He has a long future in front of him but he is very much
the present also. (Bellion) is 20 and he is a young 20
really. He has got a lot of football to learn but I am sure
in two years he will be a big asset for us. He is a very
skilful and quick attacker."
