THE SUN COMES UP

'United have overcome bigger problems than this in the last few years and this is a long way from being a crisis. The only time you can't win the league is when another team is running around the pitch with the trophy and I don't think that has happened yet.

'Everyone likes to suggest Arsenal are unbeatable, but it isn't true. They have lost three or four games in the last few weeks and have shown they are fallible. United are having a difficult patch, but they have enough quality players to bounce back.'

'Roy Keane is a big loss for United because for all his faults, he is a quality player and no one can dispute that,' continues Tommy. 'He gives them so much energy in the midfield, much more than Juan Sebastian Veron, who is a great player when he has the sun on his back.

'Some of the things Veron can do are wonderful, but he just isn't suited to English football, simple as that. Stick him back in Argentina or at one of the big Spanish clubs and he would be a world beater. It won't happen for him here and that is a shame. When you spend out £28m on a player, you are not likely to drop him, but I bet Fergie knows Veron is not the right player for him now.

'David Beckham is a key man for United, but he has been off the boil this season, as has Giggs. With those two flying on both wings, they are still a fantastic side. Then you look at Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has not been the player he was last season. Rio Ferdinand has been out injured as well. There is a lot of improvement needed, but it could all click into place. We are only in November.'
