From The Mirror:

"It's the biggest decision of my life. It's between two clubs now and I have two fantastic offers to consider, so it is a very important thing for me to get right.

"Manchester United are a great club and have great tradition and knowing they want to sign me makes me proud, but nothing has yet been signed.

"We have had very good, positive meetings with Manchester United and now we will see what happens in the next few weeks, but I will not make my decision until after the Confederations Cup.

I know people are saying they want me to wear Beckham's number seven shirt. I know I do not have his looks but I hope my football is beautiful on the pitch and that is what I enjoy. I am like many men. I love being with women and that sometimes gets you into trouble, but I am a young person who enjoys life.

"But football is my focus now and I enjoy playing more than anything else, so playing for Brazil and my club will always come first."

His agent and brother Roberto Assis said: "I think he is closer to England than Spain now.

"The transfer is just a matter of days away."
