KENYON CARRIES THE CAN

‘THE crisis at Manchester United is down to one man. Peter Kenyon. He allowed Sir Alex Ferguson to stay, after originally accepting his retirement. And now it is down to the chief executive to find the nerve to stand up to
Fergie and TELL him to go, for the good of the club and for the good of this great manager?

Sir Alex deserves more than to be remembered as a boss who ran out of steam, overtaken by the power of Arsenal and resurgence of Liverpool. His team, which so often played with tempo and pace and flair and dynamism, now looks tired and jaded. His tactics are unfathomable.

The board have already allowed him to dictate to them. When he announced his retirement date two years ago, he should NEVER have been allowed to go back on that pledge.’
