THERE'S ONLY ONE RONALDO

Ruud:

'Cristiano won the game for us. He's amazing. His goal just before half-time was very important because Millwall were very compact, very tight, and did well. We needed that goal and from then on we took the game in our own hands. We had a young team out there and it's a team to build on. We didn't have the best of seasons, we're all agreed on that. But winning this cup gives us a great deal to build on. We beat Arsenal in the semi-final and that was a great achievement. To come here and win shows everyone what we are capable of. It's great to lift a cup.'

Van Nistelrooy insisted that Ronaldo should have been man of the match and added that he saw his potential when United played Sporting Lisbon in 'that friendly'.

'I was one of the players who was very impressed with him when he played against us in that friendly. I could see his ability. But the way he played then and the way he plays now are very different. He's a different player now. He's improved so much. His end product is there. He scores goals, and at 19 he has fantastic ability. He uses his skill effectively. At this level to beat men is extremely rare. With his ability you can see what he's capable of. Physically he's already very strong but he can only get better.'
