Both Brian McClair and Ricky Sbragia have recently been over to Royal Antwerp to check on the progress of the young players over there. Although there are no British born players currently at the club United do have Dong Fangzhuo (China), Souleymane Mamam (Togo) and Arthur Gomez (Gambia) playing there as they cannot get work permits to play in Britain. Antwerp's general secretary Paul Bistiaux said:

"Brian was with us two weeks ago to check on the guys,"

"I know United are very happy with the progress that is being made by the
players.

"I think particularly the way Dong and Souleymane are progressing is very
pleasing.

"Arthur has had a lot of injuries, but is still doing well.

"The way it is looking at the moment, all could make it Old Trafford, and both
Dong and Souleymane could be with them within two years."
