From the Sun:

Rap nuts Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Shaun Wright-Phillips are to make a TV show dubbed Hip Hop Idol. The three soccer stars will search the country for Britain’s best young MC.

England defender Rio, 27, his Man United team-mate Wayne, 20, and Chelsea’s Shaun, 24, came up with the Pop Idol-style show after watching Eminem movie 8 Mile.

A source said: “They thought it would be great to use their high profile to help find new UK talent on a face-off rap show.”

Wannabe rappers will go head-to-head on stage in front of a panel of judges.
Wayne even plans to get on the mic — taking on Portsmouth’s Lomana LuaLua, 25, during the final.

Meanwhile from the Mirror:

Wayne Rooney's cousin has recorded a track he's hoping will become the England cup song. And if James Rooney has his way, Wayne's fiancee Coleen McLoughlin will star in the video.

The 21-year-old told us: "We've recorded a song called Dreams and Wayne and Coleen think it's brilliant.

"They are behind me 100 per cent." James, 21, reckons he and his band, Caution, have what it takes to relegate Peter Kay and Kasabian who have been tipped for the honour. Bless.

"We're putting together the storyboard for the video right now. We'd love to have Col to star in the video, she's such a great girl."
