TITBITS AND TITTLE TATTLE

PIG FACE DOESN'T GET THE MESSAGE

Pig Face in The People:

"I haven't said goodbye to the Leeds fans because I hope, under different circumstances, I'll be back.”

"I have walked away from Leeds with my head held high, knowing I gave it my best shot - and certain in the knowledge I'm leaving behind a squad who could easily be Premiership champions next season."

His other points are:

Robbie Fowler rang him to offer support after his sacking - and admitted he moved to Elland Road because he wanted to work with O'Leary. Bless

O'Leary thinks Leeds should go for an experienced manager and has told Martin O'Neill to take the job.

Warned the new boss that he had better deliver trophies or that "there will be trouble".

THIS IS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT HIS TEAMMATES WILL EXPERIENCE WITH LIFE ON GITSIDE

From The Telegraph:

Senegal midfielder Papa Bouba Diop (once linked with United)papinsisted that the theft of his bag during a ceremony in which he received the freedom of the city of Rufisque had not altered his opinion of his home-town. "I'm still proud to be from Rufisque," said the Lens star.

As huge crowds packed out a function-room in the town to witness the ceremony conducted by the town's mayor, one of the audience made off with Bouba Diop's bag.

The 24-year-old, who scored three goals during Senegal's fairy-tale World Cup campaign, said the bag had contained 500 Euros, two mobile phones, his passport, car keys and other personal effects.

He was determined, however, that the theft wouldn't spoil the event. "I'm really proud so many people turned out to honour me," he said.

THE VOICE OF A DIPLOMAT

This from The Guardian:

Nicholas Anelka's legendary lack of diplomacy has struck again after he revealed that he would have preferred to stay at Liverpool rather than join his new club Manchester City.

"Why didn't I stay at Liverpool after having achieved what I wanted to do: to play, score, and of course to relaunch my career?" Anelka asked. "I cannot answer that. It is better to put the question to Gerard Houllier because I really wanted to stay.

"I did well, and they played the game that I had been looking for and the atmosphere was good," he added. "For me there was no question. But obviously that did not suit Mr Houllier."

"I had not been able to give the response right away to Manchester City because Liverpool had not decided what to do. It was during this period that Kevin Keegan contacted me through Ali Benarbia.

"And then it all came together when Houllier did the opposite of what he had said. From the moment where they did not want me I moved on to something else."

TWO INVITATIONS? WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

Andy Cole and McManaman got married yesterday. (not to each other)

Among the guests at Andrew's wedding were Nicky Butt and Dwight Yorke.

Around 150 family and friends needed three coaches to transport them from the five-star Shrigley Hall hotel, near Macclesfield, where the reception was also held.

Meanwhile, in Spain, McManaman married Victoria Edwards in front of 500 guests at Palma Cathedral.

McManaman arranged his wedding so that it didn't coincide with the World Cup – presumably out of consideration of his guests.

NEED A TISSUE?

"I'm not, nor have I ever been, a lesbian but I've had a couple of experiences with other girls," says Heather Juergensen, star of movie, Kissing Jessica Stein.

"When people ask me what it's like to kiss women, I tell them the truth. It's fantastic - much softer and gentler than with a man.

"The first time I kissed a girl was when I was 12 as an experiment. It isn't physically aggressive in the same way. Plus there's no stubble rash to cope with.

“A few years ago, I was going out with a man who was into wild sex. He was desperate to try a threesome. I'm the adventurous type so I was interested in having a go.

"We met another girl at a party who agreed to join in. But it turned out she was even less turned on than I was.“

BECKS HAS A NEW HAIRDO

DB is pictured in most tabs, leaving Liz Hurley's baby's christening looking rather dapper, but with a new hairdo – for those interested, it is a random spike with blond highlights.

YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP

KKK sets his sights high

“With a bit of luck we could be challenging for the title.”

Meanwhile the NOTW says that KKK is to sign Little Dennis Wise.
