LATVIA IN AUGUST WOULD BE NICE

The Champions league draw takes place on 26 July when we, hopefully should be drawn against a minnow. An eastern European team would be nice, cheap beer, cheap women, anyone remember Honved or Kosice. Hopefully, we won't get a team from Kazakstan, UEFA's latest member state. Rumour has it that this former Soviet state, just north of PAKISTAN is dry.

KEANO FOR IRELAND?

The MEN reports that keano may be able to carry on with Eire if McCarthy gets the Lids job.

KEANO FOR HAALAND?

Alf-Inge Haaland is almost fit again after an op – just in time for…

LONDONERS

Oasis' new album is widely panned in the weekend press; the bitter bastards from Hampstead deserve it.

HE'S NOT TOO WHITE AFTER ALL

No need to take that DNA test then, Dwight

New Yorke? ... Harvey looks just like Dwight Pictures: From one tab:

By the look of these exclusive snaps glamour model Jordan's month-old baby
Harvey bears a striking resemblance to her ex-lover Dwight Yorke.

The Manchester United forward had previously claimed that the child was too white to be his son.

And he demanded busty pin-up Jordan take DNA tests to prove he was the father.

But the pair seem to have settled their differences as they were seen in public together for the first time yesterday.

The trio were spotted coming back from enjoying a pizza in Hayes, Middlesex.

One onlooker said: "They looked really happy.

"Dwight was doting on the little one and looked dead chuffed. And it was obvious looking at Harvey that he was Dwight's son.

"They certainly share the same dribbling skills."

And to back this up The People allege that Dwight is a concerned parent who is objecting to Jordan taking the baby to Hugh Hefner's palace in the States to further her modeling career. Maybe she's trying to get into the States porn industry as he's doing fuck all here at present

FOR ALL THE TEA IN CHINA

Ex-Red, Simon Davies in The MEN

While United launch another realistic bid for Champions League glory, Davies will captain part-timers Bangor City, who qualified for the UEFA Cup as beaten finalists in the Welsh Cup. Their life expectation in the competition is brief.

Davies is still making his living from soccer by playing part-time at the ambitious Welsh outpost while coaching on a full-time basis in Crewe.

It's not the living he could have expected 10 years ago but he's comfortable - and he wouldn't go back into full-time soccer at any price if the chance came along.

He admitted: "I suppose people would think ‘he would say that, wouldn't he'. But it's true. My life is just how I want it and I'm very happy.

"Don't get me wrong, I had a marvellous time at Old Trafford. I played alongside people who have become great internationals, both in that superb youth side, the United first team and in Europe.

"I also played once for Wales against Switzerland in 1995 and I've got the cap here to prove it. I'm very, very proud of that.

"I had 12 first team games, including two in the European Cup and I'll never forget the night I scored at Old Trafford on my European debut in 1994."

SPEAKING OF EX-REDS

Terry Cooke, who was released by the Citeh at the end of last season, is having a trial with Grimsby.

HELL HATH NO FURY....

Anelka bitches about Houllier in The Daily Star:

"It seems that Gerard Houllier did not appreciate my personality.

"It bothers him to have someone around who could stand up to him.

"I did not price myself out of Liverpool. Everything was going fine with me and the team.

"I proved what I was capable of. I had no problems with the management. So it was down to the coach.

"Manchester City is by no means a step backwards for me. It's a great club and I am very happy to be there."

DIDN'T JOE ROYLE SAY SOMETHING SIMILAR?

KKK's mouth runs away again…

The players who took us to promotion knew we would bring in new people this summer. And at least the players who now find themselves under pressure for their places realise they are at a very ambitious club.

"Players don't want to be at a club that is stagnating. We know it is not going to be easy, but my aim is to finish in a Champions League qualifying position - and that means the top four.

"What I do know is that you won't hear me talking about struggling in the Premiership - because we won't."
