David Beckham will have something to celebrate next month... his halfway line special against Wimbledon will be named Premiership goal of the decade.

The award is part of the Premier League's ten-year celebration - other categories include game of the decade and player of the decade.

The results won't be officially announced until March, but Confidential can reveal that Beckham's spectacular at Selhurst Park on the opening day of the 1996/97 season has beaten stiff competition from Matt Le Tissier. (From The People)

David Beckham's parents have finally divorced, according to The People

The decree absolute between Ted, 53, and Sandra Beckham was granted after a drawn-out wrangle over cash. England skipper Becks, 27, is said to be deeply upset by the split but his parents could have faced a bitter public court battle if they had not settled differences.

From The Mirror: Posh and Becks are to hold a lavish christening party for baby Romeo in which everything possible - including their outfits - will have as much orange in as possible.

A friend said last night: "Posh has a great sense of humour and thought it would be amusing to mimic the show. She is aware that it is a case of art imitating life imitating art!

"Obviously there will be a serious note to the day with Romeo getting christened. But as Posh certainly knows how to throw a party it will be the invite of the summer."

The copy-cat bash will be held at the couple's £2 million "Beckingham Palace" mansion in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, on June 21.

Around 60 of their family and friends, plus many of Becks' Manchester United and England team-mates, are being invited along with star guests such as Sir Elton John, Liz Hurley and the other former Spice Girls.

Everyone will be asked to have some orange in their outfits. David and the couple's older son Brooklyn, three next month, will also wear splashes of orange.
