United are supposedly interested in signing Cagliari's Honduras international David Suazo. He has scored 17 goals in 32 games so far this season and he has had the pleasure of Martin 'Eagle Eye' Ferguson keeping tabs on him.

Rio Ferdinand thinks that the future England manager shouldn't be shadowing Sven Goran Eriksson during the World Cup.

"I don't think that would be right," he explained to Sky Sports News. "I think the manager we've got at the moment, his regime is in at the moment. Let him continue on with what he's doing.

"After that, I'm sure the new manager will come in and stamp his own ways and shapes on the squad."

The Sun reports that Alex Ferguson wants Jean II Makoun in the summer. The paper reports Makoun, 22, will jump at the chance to come to Old Trafford.

He said: “If a good offer comes in, myself, the manager and the board will study it.

“There comes a time when you have to look elsewhere.”

The Mirror also says that United are in for both Makoun and Diarra for £25 million.

The Torygraph says United's midfield crisis will be answered by George Boateng who will leave Middlesbrough on a free transfer this summer.
