Manchester United have had a £25million bid for Atletico Madrid star Fernando Torres rejected.

But Sir Alex Ferguson will go back with an increased offer for the 22-year-old Spain striker, who he has been tracking for the last two seasons.

Inter Milan were believed to be in pole position for Torres.
