Teamtalk reports that Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle are all thought to be keen on Sunderland's David Bellion if Manchester United fail to sign the French striker.

The Red Devils have been tracking Bellion for some time and are now putting together a bid worth up to £3m for the 20-year-old forward. But Bellion has told friends that his agent has also received enquiries from three other top clubs, specifically Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Meanwhile Planet Football reports that Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to have asked his Nottingham Forest counterpart Paul Hart to be kept up to date on talented teenager Michael Dawson's situation at The City Ground. Dawson is believed to be valued at around £8 million
