Sebastien Frey, Parma’s highly rated goalkeeper, has spoken of his desire to move on. He told L’Equipe, "I have huge respect for Parma," he told L'Equipe. "But I want a change of scenery.

"If I want to have an opportunity to play in the 2006 World Cup, I must play in the Champions League. The greatest European clubs are following me and it is an honour. This summer, I will make the most important choice of my career.

"In six months, I will be in the best form of my life. At Parma, in the dark, I am working like a dog. Soon I will be rewarded. You will hear about me."

Meanwhile Fabien Barthez has announced that he will retire after the 2006 World Cup. The former United keeper said, “I am 33 years old. There are not many seasons left for me," he said. "I'll call a halt from all football in 2006."
