Manchester rivals, United and City are set to battle it out over the signature of Benfica midfielder Nicolas Gaitan.
Both sides have sent scouts to Portugal to watch the 23-year-old Argentine, according to The Daily Mail.
Gaitan reportedly has a ?37.5m release clause in his contract.
Both clubs are monitoring his situation and could make a bid for him in the summer.
