UNITED ARE DESPERATE FOR CASH

Real Madrid are not going to rush into making a second bid for Ruud van Nistelrooy now they know the player wants to sign for them. New president Ramon Calderon knows what United are trying to do. He said:

"With regard to Van Nistelrooy, we have to wait,"

“From what (club sporting director) Pedja Mijatovic has told me, the player wants to come to Real Madrid but it is normal that Manchester United want to make as much money as possible from the transfer."

It now seems unlikely that Ruud will leave before next week. Slowing down any attempts by United to sign new players and maybe meaning van Nistelrooy will have to return to pre season training with United next week.
