The figure is a 5.9 percent increase for United, who made £55.1 million profit the year before. Profits before tax, however, were down over £10 million to £27.9 million from £39.3 million.
In a press release to the City David Gill said:
"We are determined for Manchester United to be the best on and off the field. Despite the expected fall in media revenues in this current year, our long-term strategic planning will ensure that we continue to grow as both a business and football club. We have also taken the initiative of providing a full and transparent disclosure of our player transfers and agent fees to demonstrate our confidence in our processes."
