UNITED TO POLICE FANS IN MILAN

Last updated : 24 April 2007 By editor

'Manchester United will take 30 stewards to Milan next week to avoid a repeat of the trouble in Rome. United have held meetings with Milan ahead of next Wednesday's semi-final return at the San Siro to try and reduce tension.

'And they have taken up Milan's offer to allow the club's own stewards to look after the 5,000 travelling supporters in the stadium. Both clubs feel this should reduce the chance of any violence and Milan hope fewer local police will be needed in the United end.'
