Louis Van Gaal complained of 'lies' circulating the media regarding his position as Manchester United manager

The Dutchman insisted that he is not concerned about his future at Old Trafford and assured that he will not resign his post following his sideÂ’s goalless draw with Chelsea last night.

United have now gone eight games with no wins and have managed to avoid a loss from Chelsea at the Theatre of Dreams last night

However, United fans have witnessed an improved display from their side against Chelsea who recently sacked their own manager, Jose Mourinho as they were geared in attack mode.

Van Gaal entered the game with his future in serious doubts as fans are not at all happy with his performance

Yet despite the result being a seventh goalless draw the sixth at Old Trafford this season Van Gaal was uplifted by the way his players responded.

After United’s defeat 2-1 against Stoke City, Van Gaal mentioned the possibility of resignation but the manager has since claimed that his comments had been taken out of context saying, “Maybe the media wants that, but I shall not do that.”

Although Van Gaal is concerned that he may be sacked his main concern now is about “preparing the players”.

“For me, the future is not an interesting subject because I cannot have any influence on that, I can only work with my players and you can see they are fighting for me

Even after this result the fans were applauding so I cannot say IÂ’m very much concerned

In this football world you never know but I’m fully confident in the board and my players,” Van Gaal mentioned as he addressed the media.

“Will I resign? On the contrary

When the players can give such a performance with a lot of pressure, there is not any reason to resign for me

Maybe the media wants me to but I shall not resign

ItÂ’s not a question of staying

It’s a question of fulfilling my contract.”

The Dutchman has indicated that he is looking towards the January transfer window to strengthen his squad

This may come as good news as Manchester UnitedÂ’s fans and even former players are keen on getting A-class talent to the club to help them out of their rut.
