Nemanja Vidic won't be making the trip to Wolfsburg for United's final game of the league stages in the Champions League and that leaves Sir Alex with a major defensive headache.

Sir had hoped that Vidic would have been fully recovered from the flu bug that kept him out of the side at West Ham on Saturday, but when United rolled up at the airport for the flight to Germany, there was no sign of the Serbian.

United’s list of injuries to the defensive area of the squad does not read well with Rio Ferdinand, John O’Shea and Jonny Evans out for the long term, Fabio and Rafael Da Silva both out and now Gary Neville and Wes Brown have both picked up injuries at Upton Park.
