Aston Villa are believed to be considering making a swoop for United's frozen man Dwight Yorke.
The former Villa player has been frozen out at Old Trafford and is desperate to re-start his career at another club and that could mean a switch back to the Midlands.
Villa boss Graham Taylor has admitted that he is interested but that the Villa fans may not be so keen.
"I have to say that my relationship with Dwight has been a very close one over many years," said Taykor.
"He is going through a rough period at the present time as he is not being given any break for whatever reason.
"What I sense here at Villa is that 50 per cent would say 'great' and the other 50 per cent wouldn't welcome him back."
