WALLWORK IS HAPPY AT BROM

Wallwork played under Megson at Stockport: "I'd worked with Gary Megson when I was at Stockport. He struck me as a good manager then, we did well there and I suppose I must have made a good impression on him while I was there. I know he's been after me for a while, so I'm looking forward to playing for him again. He was keen to get me here and last season I came down to watch the cup game against Cheltenham and I enjoyed that."

"There's a good set-up down here, the ground looks really good, and it looks ready for the Premier League and I just wanted to be part of that. There were a few offers from other clubs, but I wanted to play for West Brom after I'd spoken to the people here, and that was very important to me. They're my club now. I thought it was time for me to get away from United to get regular football and Premiership football was my main objective, so I was just really pleased to be able to come to West Brom."

"It is a bit of a wrench to leave United because I've been there since school, but it's been on the cards for a while now, and all I'm interested in is playing for Albion in the Premier League, that's what really matters," he told the West Brom website.

"It is a great incentive for me to get into the first team, to have my first game for West Brom back at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season. I'm really looking forward to that and hopefully getting a result there. Gary Megson spoke to me about it and said it's really the ideal start for Albion because we can go there without any pressure on us and just try to cause a bit
of a surprise."
