United boss Alex Ferguson will be looking to keep a valued record intact against Blackburn in the first leg of their Worthington Cup clash tonight.

He has never lost in eight domestic cup semi-final ties with the club - and does not plan to let Rovers spoil things.

United are aiming to make it 16 games without defeat in those semis under Ferguson.

Ferguson said: "Two-legged semi-finals are never easy, but our record is fantastic.

"Hopefully, our experience of winning will help us through.
