WE OFTEN SCORE SIX BUT NOT YESTERDAY

“It’s obvious that we have been hit pretty hard by injury but I have been astonished at the sweeping conclusions made about our so-called demise.

“I am not putting my head in the sand. I am well aware of our deficiencies and where we must improve but there are a lot of positives to the way we are playing.

“With the chances we had, we should have had five or six and I thought we were going to regret it at the end.

“Winning with a penalty doesn’t do justice to the opportunities we had. It does make you a little bit nervous because if you don’t take chances you can suffer.

“Their keeper was superb but we dug in, worked really hard and got the three points.”

“We had clear penalty shouts against Chelsea, Bolton, Leeds and again today without getting them.

“Ruud showed plenty of composure to finish it but I can’t believe we didn’t get the previous one.”

And Goddle:

"We deserved something from the game but I have no complaints about the penalty,'' he said.

"It doesn't matter what form they are in, Manchester United always ask you questions. Today we answered most of them.''
