WELL THAT'S NICE TO KNOW

Rainer Bonhof, the Under 21 coach, explains why he didn’t
pick him for the last match after giving him his debut
against Iceland:

"I know what Darren can do but it's a difficult period
because he hasn't been in the spotlight as much as now and
he has to adapt to this situation.

"He's a player who can still play for the under-19s and we
have plenty of good players in the squad at the moment, so
he is one for the future.”

He agrees with Fergie that Darren needs more time to
increase his strength:

"We have to think about him and give him a chance to develop
himself. I agree with Alex Ferguson that he needs more
strength and he can use this period to build himself up
more.”

However he is confident that he will soon be an important
part of Scotland’s international set-up:

"You cannot tell how a player will develop but if everything
goes well then he will be a key player for Scotland in the
future."
