WENGER HAS REAL RESPECT FOR FERGIE

From The NOTW:

"Over the years I believe that a real respect has been built between us.

"At the beginning, maybe there was a certain rejection from both of us.

"But when you are always fighting against the same person, a form of esteem and respect is established.

"I would even say it's a kind of tolerance of what the other guy has achieved. These days, I think there is a reciprocal regard between us — despite what others think."

"United still rely on the generation of players that came through at the start of the 1990s. If you ask me to name their two essential players, I would still say Beckham and Scholes — even now.

"They are the most mature of that generation and they perform at a very high level but I possess a balanced side with 20 players of great quality.

"However, I've never been to United's training ground at Carrington, although I wouldn't refuse the idea of visiting it out of curiosity.

"If I learned that Sir Alex had been to our training ground at London Colney, I wouldn't call it spying, even if there is always a bit of that in our job. It's gathering information. It's about being vigilant and making sure you don't get overtaken."
