WHAT'S NEXT?

"I am looking for something all the time. It goes quickly for me, winning.

"The next one is more important for me, and I think the players get the smell of that, so when we win the league it is forgotten very quickly.

"In fact, it has gone by the next day. The final whistle is when you feel the adrenalin.

"I keep watching the referee for the last few seconds of the game, and when he blows his whistle, then you know you have achieved, and you can start congratulating your players.

"After that, there is tomorrow. It is not something I have worked at - it is just in me.

"You can lose a game for many reasons, and in many ways.

"On the odd day, things creep in and you don't always get that perfect performance.

"In winning the championship, you get these blips - and every team has them at some point in the season.

"I remember losing three games in a row to Newcastle, Chelsea and Southampton and there was an hour-long programme on Radio Five about the demise of Manchester United. We only won the league by about nine points.

"Your whole life, your whole career, everything you have put out onto a football team can't be washed away by three results.

"That's why I was happy last year in winning the league, because that meant we were back.

"It's a personal pride and a pride in the club you play for."
