When Man Utd will confirm Jadon Sancho transfer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Jadon Sancho's imminent transfer to the club is just some paperwork away from being finalised.

After a year of chasing the winger, United finally struck a £73m deal to lure Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund, with the 21-year-old undergoing a medical earlier in the week before jetting off on his post-Euros holiday.

It's quite fitting that the most dragged-out transfer of all time is taking a long time to complete, but Solskjaer has confirmed United will soon be ready to announce Sancho as the newest Old Trafford superstar.

"From what I understand only paperwork [is left], small little details, hopefully we can announce something," Solskjaer said (via the Manchester Evening News). "Let's get all the paperwork done and get him over the line and then I can say what I truly feel about the player."

Fortunately, it seems as though the two teams have finished speaking to one another as Dortmund director Michael Zorc confirmed (via Ruhr Nachrichten) that they have done all they need to to get the sale done.

"From our side, all things are settled and processed," Zorc stated. "In my mind, the transfer is done."

From Dortmund's perspective, they are already trying to spend the Sancho money. Talks are underway with PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen, who is valued at £25m, although that fee is a little high for a Dortmund side who have agreed to receive the Sancho fee in instalments.

United have negotiated a payment plan with Dortmund which will see them hand the German side £14.6m every year for the next five seasons - the duration of Sancho's proposed contract at Old Trafford.

There had been hopes that Sancho would be unveiled as a United player this week, but for reasons unknown, things haven't played out that way and fans have been forced to wait even longer to see their new man.

It seems as though we're close to finally ending this saga once and for all. Just some i's to dot and t's to cross.
