Why not Danny Welbeck

With all the speculation on the future of Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez leaving Manchester United, why is Danny Welbeck not considered in this debate?

Rooney has been linked to a summer move to PSG for the last few months. It has also been written that he is ready to sign a new 4 year deal at United.

Hernandez has been linked with a transfer to Atletico Madrid and now he is part of the transfer to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

Since we probably will not have any of these questions answered until the Summer transfer window opens, why is Danny Welbeck not mention in any of these blockbuster deals?

Rooney and Hernandez are both sitting on 16 goals apiece while Welbeck is sitting on two for Club and three for Country. Welbeck has underperformed this season and the stats prove this out, especially when you compare him to the other United strikers and Midfielders.

It has long been rumored that Nani will leave United during the summer so Welbeck could be moved outside to fill that void. Other than that, there really isn?t anywhere else he can play and if Ronaldo comes back, then that ruins that option.

With all the speculation that United are on track to bring Robert Lewondowski to Old Trafford and that CR7 may come back home, where does this leave Welbeck?

You could also make the case that this could affect Rooney?s career at United but, Rooney has more upside than Welbeck and has the ability to fill a glaring need in the central midfield.

It will not surprise me if Welbeck is shipped off this summer. The extra money could help bring in better talent and more titles.
